No 7.THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. Hezekiah’s Grave Illness.

DESPERATION filled his mind. The King was in so much pain; his body was at the point of death. The infection had spread from the Boil and throughout his whole body; it was excruciating!

It is suggested that he had the deadly Bubonic plague. The epidemic was raging at that time through the Syrian army getting ready to attack Jerusalem. Thus the mention of the boil.

Hezekiah was sick unto death with these excrutiating boils and He was at the mercy of God.

Maybe Septicemia had set into his body? (Blood poisoning caused by Bacteria)

He could only lay on his bed and moan. God sent the Prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, to deliver a message from the Lord to him. He was expecting to be healed by the prophet because that’s what prophets accomplish.

ISAIAH VISITS HEZEKIAH.

He received some terrible news. The prophet said, “Hezekiah, set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.” Isaiah turned on his heel and left the room without uttering another word.

Poor Hezekiah’s heart broke, and he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the Lord. He sobbed his prayer unto Jehovah. (maybe he didn’t want others to see him so vulnerable.)

He begged the Lord, bargaining his excellent behavior as a reason to prolong his life. He wept unceasingly.

The Lord “saw his tears and heard his moaning,” so He interrupted the Prophet, who was by this time in the middle Court, and said, “Turn again and tell Hezekiah, l have heard your prayer and seen your tears look! I will heal you. I Will add to your life fifteen years,” which happened.

He continued his work on the Word of God and the responsibility of running the Kingdom.

Dear friend, Jesus also sees your tears and hears your cry. He is the Sympathizing Saviour. He loves and cares for you. Yes! Jesus desires to heal you because He dearly loves you. He took all your infirmities on His body on the Cross of Calvary so that by the wounds that wounded Him, you are healed.

What was the natural remedy they used? Read 2 Kings 20:5-11

They applied a pulp of figs on the raging boil. How fabulous that figs were such medicinal plants.

Let me ask you, are you also in pain and suffering, and do you wonder why you are not experiencing healing? This is good news if you can grasp it then walk in it.

You ‘are’ already healed according to the unfailing Word of God.

1 Peter 2:24 “HE WHO KNEW NO SIN BECAME SIN, THAT WE WOULD BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM. BY HIS STRIPES, WE, ‘WERE’HEALED!”

Right now, the moment you receive Him as your Lord and Saviour, not only are you saved, you are healed and delivered from all evil. Jesus gives life and life abundant (to the full!) He delights to prosper you Spiritually physically, and Finantially,

You, then, became the Righteousness of Christ! As He lives in fullness in you, He is never sick. You do not need to prove to God how good you are, as Hezekiah tried to do to be made whole.

It was the Grace and mercy of God that healed him and added fifteen years to his life.

All you have to do is walk in that healing by faith. Sometimes healing comes suddenly (a supernatural miracle), and at other times, healing comes progressively ( recovery.) Jesus paid the price for your illness and sin at Calvary.

“He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. It is by the wounds that wounded Him you are healed.” Isa 53:5.

He loves you and will “Never leave or forsake you.”

Heb 13:36.”

DON’T STOP BELIEVING! YOUR AILMENT IS IN THE PAST, SO DON’T CALL IT BACK BY COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR SYMPTOMS.Crucify your disease, and count your condition as dead with Christ. You are dead indeed unto sin, and sickness and are now the Master over all powers of the Evil One. Hallelujah.

Walk in that finished work on Calvary. Jesus, the Healer, lives in all His fulness in you. When Jesus was on this Earth, He quoted Isaiah 61:1 and confirmed that this prophesy concerned Himself, Luke 4:17-19, 21. He is the Saviour, the Healer, the Deliverer.

How long it takes to manifest is in His hands, and when it takes longer, we must trust Him without reservation. Declare you are healed, and do not whine about your symptoms. Don’t own it or advertise it. You do not have to live with it. According to the Word of God :

YOU ARE HEALTHY.

Finally and sadly, Hezekiah became presumptuous by allowing the Babylonians to see all the riches of His Kingdom without asking the Lord’s permission.

This foolish show had dire consequences in the future when Babylon would destroy Judah and carry them off as captives to Babylon with everything they owned.

He didn’t seem too anxious as long as he was not alive when the devestation would come to pass.

This seems so selfish, but he was indeed a good King. HE WAS A GREAT FIGURE IN HISTORY!

We all do silly things without thinking. We must seek forgiveness and move on.

You can still be significant in this life! God is so Merciful and Gracious and has the power to raise you up and fully restore you to fulfill your future destiny.

Never give up!

Amen.

No 6.THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. Hezekiah, The Good King.

HIS REIGN.

Hezekiah was a remarkable man. He was a SOLDIER, STATESMAN, ARCHITECT, POET, and SAINT. He was all these.

His reign was the greatest since the days of David and Solomon. If you care to read about him more thoroughly, read 2 Kings chapters 8-20. and 2 Chronicles chapters.. 29-32. It is a noble record.

Things began to change when he ascended as King over Judah.

1. He reopened and repaired the Lord’s house.

2. He reorganized the Priesthood and the Levitical services.

3. He recalled his subjects to worship the true God

4. He gathered his people to a tremendous National observance of the Passover, as recorded in Biblical accounts.

Hezekiah sought the Lord about everything.
"SINCE THE DAYS OF SOLOMON THE SON OF DAVID THE KING OF ISRAEL, THERE WAS NO ONE LIKE HIM IN ISRAEL."

5. He slew Israel’s enemies and extended his borders, and became magnified in the sight of all nations. 2 Chron 32:23.

Indeed, God said of Hezekiah.

“HE TRUSTED IN THE LORD HIS GOD SO THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER KING BEFORE OR AFTER HIM.”

WE MUST PRAY FOR OUR GOVERNMENT LEADERS.

We need to cover in prayer our Royalty, the Prime Minister and ask God that He would cause them to follow the Lord, with all of their hearts

And walk in the ways of the Lord their God. Pray that the Lord will make them perfect in every way and work, to hear from our Lord through His Word, and do God’s will for our country.

We never thought that we would live in a worldwide Pandemic, Covid 19, causing 5 million and more deaths up to this date.

Many people have lost homes and employment in a failing economy, and the prices of almost everything have doubled.

People are fearful, angry, and anxious. Crime has increased everywhere. Everyone hates to wear a mask.

Except for those of us who like to hide our wrinkles!!

Our Government needs our prayers, and our leaders need wisdom and support instead of accusations and lies from us.

Let’s declare that GOD RULES IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH, and all men must submit themselves to Him.

The Bible says. “WITHOUT GOD, WE ARE WITHOUT HOPE IN THIS WORLD”

Similarly, The DELTA and The OMICRON viruses and all upcoming transmutations are no match for the: ALPHA AND OMEGA!

THEN WE WILL PROSPER!

If you have personally endured injustice through people in high places, you must forgive and hold no bitterness toward them. The Scriptures encourage us to be subject to higher powers as we submit to them.

Remember that the God of all Heaven and earth rules over them. He can pull down Kings and set up Kings and Kingdoms. He holds all things in His Hand.

“KING OF MY LIFE, I CROWN THEE NOW, THINE THE GLORY BE. MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING SACRIFICE, CRUCIFIED FOR THEE.”

Why not make Him Lord of your life today?

Amen.

No 5.THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. Josiah’s Reforms.

Josiah began his reign in Jerusalem at the Age of eight, and he ruled for 31 years. He did everything to please the Lord, just as his ancestor David did.

Josiah never turned away from the Lord. He had advisers and his mother to guide him in his younger days. He was 16 when he sought the Lord for himself.   2 Chronicles 34:3.

Read 2nd Kings 23:25. Like Hezekiah before him (19:1), Josiah tore his clothes in genuine grief for his spiritual condition and that of the people of Judah. Previously God had warned them of the penalties for infidelity.

See Deut 28 about the blessings that obedience brings and the curses that follow disobedience to his Laws. Recognizing that Judah had failed to obey the Lord, Josiah rightly feared the Lord and recognized His great anger; he turned to the Lord with all his heart and followed all the Laws of Moses.

2nd Chronicles  34:3.

HIS REFORMS.

HE PREPARED THE TEMPLE.

HE REPENTED OF HIS DISOBEDIENCE OF GOD’S LAWS AND THE COVENANT.

HE RENEWED THE NATIONAL OBSERVANCE TO IT ONCE MORE.

HE ERADICATED PAGAN WORSHIP CENTRES AT BETHEL. 2 Kings 13: 1-3.

HE FULFILLED THE PROPHECY GIVEN IN 2 KINGS 13: 1-3, 6, 7.

God saw that Josiah’s repentance was genuine and how he tore his clothes in despair and wept before God in sincere repentance, and God heard his prayer. So the Lord promised him that He would delay the disaster upon the city and he would punish them after the death of Josiah. Josiah died in a time of peace.

So at the age of 26, he sought after the Lord even more fully, to obey His instructions by leading the people in worshipping the Lord.

He celebrated the Passover and eliminated many idols in Baal and sun worship. He tore down the pagan shrine in Judah and cleansed all the land.

JOSIAH’S DEATH.

On one significant occasion, he was not sensitive to God’s voice costing him his life. He should not have died at this time, but he wanted to prove that he could defeat Egypt, who tried to help Assyria fight another battle in Carchemish. (Was it pride?)

God had spoken to Neco, but Josiah refused to listen, and instead, he disguised himself and went into battle.   Read 2nd Chronicles 35:20-25.

Necko, Pharoah of Egypt, sent Josiah a message saying, “God has told me to fight another nation and to hurry! Don’t meddle with me or interfere with God, who is with me, or He may destroy you.”

JOSIAH STEPS OUT OF GOD’S WILL.

Josiah did not listen to Pharaoh. (Maybe he was trying to prove himself.)

The arrows from the chosen enemy tore through his armor and severely wounded him; later, he died!

Let us heed this warning: Don’t listen to anyone else, including yourself, to cause you to ‘Disobey a Direct Command of God.’

There is a song used for an advertisement on TV at present. They play it so often that it irritates me.

Josiah could have sung it easily.

“IV’E GOTTA BE ME,”

I’ve gotta be me, I’ve gotta be me. Do it or die, I’ve gotta be me!

The song is incorrect! Why?

Because we should aspire to be: more like Jesus, self needs to be crucified.

BE LIKE JESUS IN ALL HIS GLORY, CHARACTER, AND AUTHORITY.

My friends, don’t do anything contrary to the WORD OF THE LORD. Your life may be cut short, or you may live the rest of your life in deep regret.

JOSIAH IS MOURNED.

He was a spectacular King, and in his days, no one departed from serving the Lord. He ‘made’ them all obey his reforms. But we’re they repentant in heart? Though Josiah was faithful, the people were ‘not.’

Once he died, his sons and successors turned away from the Lord; despite Jeremiah’s increased efforts, the people did not repent.

The turbulent years that followed Josiah’s reign soon ended with the DESTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM and the EXILE of all its citizens to Babylon.             The date (1608 – 586 BC)

Under the reign of Josiah, there was an outward reform but no inward return to the Lord. They respected their King, but there was no inward Heart-Penitance toward God, whom they had blatantly wronged.

Judah had gone too far! We can learn from this excellent King to always:

Surrender yourself wholly unto the Lord, in everything, in every way. Listen to the Holy Spirit and be quick to obey His leading.

We can learn from this great King and follow Paul’s admonition.

BE STEADFAST, IMMOVABLE, ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD. FOR YOU KNOW THAT YOUR LABOUR IS NOT IN VAIN (WASTED) IN THE LORD.” 1 Cor 15: 58.

No 2. THE Second BOOK OF KINGS. The Influence of the Reign of Solomon and David.

We have looked at the life of David, followed by his son Solomon.

King Solomon.

Solomon continued his father’s policy and lived with his father’s blessing.

Solomon’s Kingdom extended from the Red Sea and Arabia to the utmost of Lebanon.                                                He became the “King of Kings,” and all tributary states were subject to him. Even the Canaanites were at peace with him, and some became his servants.

SOLOMON’S GREATNESS. Solomon’s greatness became his downfall. His treasures, his wife’s horses, and chariots were all contrary to the spirit and concept of the law.

See Deuteronomy chapter 17: 16,17.

His wives turned his heart away from his God. He built temples to Chemosh or Baal Peor, the obscene God of the Moabites, Moloch, the god of Ammon, and Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians. (can you imagine how disappointed his mother Bathsheba felt.)

SOLOMON’S MANY WIVES.

As a result, Solomon’s last days were disturbed by those who became his ‘adversaries’ and stirred up revolt against him.

The tribe of Ephraim became a center of disaffection. Then King Hadad made mischief in Edom; See why.                       Kings 2:11-25. Both Hadad and Rezon hated him immensely and continued to reign in Aran, causing trouble for him.

ABIJAH THE PROPHET appeared to announce a word about Solomon himself because he had broken the covenant of the Lord.

ABIJAH.

God instructed Abijah to tear the kingdom from him and give ten tribes to Jeroboam Solomon’s official.”                                                                            1 King Chapter 11:26-40. Sadly, this rent between the two domains happened.

THE TWO KINGDOMS OF ISRAEL.

We come now to the second half of the book of 1st Kings. Following Solomon’s death, the “Disruption” occurred, and we follow the two separate lines of Kings.

You can read chapter 12 of the 1st book of Kings and see that the disruption caused a deadly wound to Israel. They were to be   the:                                            “Light and Blessedness to the whole world.”

As we know, this all leads back to the sin of Solomon.

I believe that we are living in the last of the last days; people are fearful and unbelieving and cannot endure suffering or persecution.

Satan is infiltrating the church with compromise, rebellion and anger, and bitterness.

He causes people to embrace immorality, and the Pastor is not respected, nor is the Word of God obeyed.

Those weak in the faith are offended, leave the Fellowship and never return.

They blame the Lord God, who is Pure and Holy, then, as Solomon, they are attracted by the world.

We need to go out and find these poor lost, hurting sheep.

The Lord has instructions for us in this final hour, and please read ,                   2 Tim 2:22-36. He warns us that the last days there will be challenging times. He tells  us to stand on a firm foundation.

“The Lord knows  those who are His, and all who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” Praise the Lord they’ll one day look upon Him whom they pierced and weep tears of repentance for their sin.

HALLELUJAH,  ISRAEL WILL RETURN!          Please pray for Israel today as they are under the spirit of disruption, chaos, and confusion.

ISRAEL WILL BE  SAVED!                                            Zec 12: 10,11.                 Johnv11:37.                                            We must, as Christians (those who have received  Jesus as their Lord and Saviour), STAND FIRM in the Gospel of Christ,

OBEY His Word with JOY in your heart and REMAIN in His Perfect and acceptable will.                                         Be continually FILLED with the Holy Spirit and produce His fruit. Gal 5:22. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, and Meekness. Allow Him to guide your life into the truth of God’s precious holy Word. He will undoubtedly give you the power to be steadfast and unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.

I am saying:

LET THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDE YOUR  LIVES. SO YOU WON’T BE DOING WHAT YOUR SINFUL NATURE CRAVES.

The practice of these sins opens the door for Satan to steal, kill and bring destruction to your life.

There is no such thing as a ‘little sin.’

THE HOLY SPIRIT desires the opposite of what your SINFUL FLESH wants. (evil thinking, sexual immorality, idolatry, anger and quarreling, bitterness, unforgiveness, disobedience, and so much more.)

May the Lord bless you with the will and wisdom to:

LIVE YOUR LIFE ENTIRELY GIVEN OVER TO HIM.

Amen.

A Mother’s Day Message.❤️

What is the meaning of motherhood? A Mother is a female parent. Mums nurture and care for their children. It is also a term describing an older woman or a Mother Superior.

Your mother is the woman who gave birth to you. She deserves respect and is to be honoured above other women in your life. Of course, you should honour your God-given wife.

1 Peter 3:7, Esther 1:20.

In the book of Proverbs, we read how children should treat their mothers.

Prov 21:28, 30.

“HER CHILDREN RISE AND CALL HER BLESSED.”

This admiration has nothing to do with her appearance but rather her inward beauty and grace.

“FAVOUR IS DECEITFUL, AND BEAUTY IS VAIN: BUT  A WOMAN THAT FEARS THE LORD, HER FAMILY SHALL PRAISE HER.”

You may be at this moment recalling past painful memories, then concluding that these verses in the Bible do not apply to you.

“If you only knew how she abused and hurt me so intensely and emotionally. My mother has not earned any praise and honour from us as her children. She is so, etc., etc.; she has ruined my life!”

That is a fair statement and many others have suffered, such as you. I am so sorry.

What does the Lord say in His Word? Read Ephesians 6:1-3 and Colossians 3:20. This verse commands us to:

“Obey our parents in the Lord ( because of the Lord)  in all things, as this pleases the Lord.”

How is this possible? Look back to the prior verses, and you will find the key how to do this. See verse 13. “Forbearing one another.”

It is forgiving one another. Even as Christ, for God’s sake, has forgiven you. For this reason, you should pardon your mother. The results of doing this are fantastic!

This kind of obedience will add years to your life. God is telling you in this chapter to exercise kindness, humility, holiness, meekness, and patience.

Allow me to challenge you as a Christian.

How long has it been since you visited her in the nursing home?

When did you call her on your phone to encourage her?

When did you thank her for birthing and caring for you in your younger days?

What about sending her a beautiful bunch of flowers for Mothers Day?

  • The cry of most old age people breaks my heart. They sadly turn their moistening eyes from me and look at the floor, saying: “My family does not ever come and see me” Then they make excuses for them. “Oh, they are so busy. “

She may have Dementia or memory loss, but her Spirit is keenly aware! Sometimes a human touch is enough.

Hold her hand!

I know you have suffered much at her hands. Remember how they treated Jesus.

He was despised, rejected by men, a man of sorrows acquainted with grief, yet He never sinned but took our punishment. From the cross, He cried,

“FATHER, FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.”

So, your reasonable response should be because of what Jesus has endured having the same mind as He has.

Matt 6:4,” DO GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE YOU.  PRAY FOR THOSE WHO DESPITEFULLY USE (ABUSE)YOU, AND SAY ALL MANNER OF EVIL AGAINST YOU FALSELY. ”

You cannot do it the natural. But you can participate in the Spiritual. Pray and ask Jesus to do it in and through you.

Pray, “Lord, l cannot do this; please forgive her with Your forgiveness flowing through me and give me Your love for her.”

Start sending cards that lift her from depression.

You will find that you will grow more like Christ and take on a mature character that is not so easily offended.

YOU BECOME MORE CHRIST-LIKE IN WORD AND DEED.

A WORD FOR MOTHERS.

I hear mothers say; “I wish I could go back and do it all over again. I truly failed as a mother, and now it is too late.”

No, it is never too late for God.  Here are some steps you can take toward reconciliation.

God has forgiven you, so you must forgive yourself!

1. “HUMBLE YOURSELF UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD, AND IN DUE TIME HE WILL EXALT YOU.” 1 Peter 5:6.

2. REPENT. Admit your sin to God, and He will forgive you.

“IF YOU CONFESS YOUR SINS HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE YOUR SIN AND CLEANSE YOU FROM UNRIGHTEOUSNESS”             1 John 1:9.

Repentance implies a change of thinking, of direction, of attitude,  all directed by knowing God’s  Holy Word.

So forget the past and go forward in the order of God’s perfect will.

3. RECONCILE. Admit your sins, failures, and mistakes to your mother, and apologize. Tears will flow…  They are so cleansing and freeing for both of you.

4. Leave her with the Lord to complete His good work that has begun in her.

5. Pray, pray, and keep on praying for her. War for her Salvation, claiming the Blood of Jesus.

6. In everything, give thanks!

7. Activate your faith; it surely will grow stronger as you believe for the impossible.

8. Take tiny gentle steps toward rebuilding the relationship between you both.

Remember, love keeps no record of wrongs.

ONE MORE QUESTION!

What if she won’t reconcile?

Leave her with the Lord and move on.

Still, visit occasionally as God is still at work in her life.

Now your conscience is clear, and you are not carrying the burden of it on your shoulders anymore. Don’t allow history to repeat itself!

God created mothers to ❤️ LOVE.
He cared for His dear mother even in severe agony, saying to His disciple John.

“John, please take my precious mother home.”

Take up your cross and follow Jesus. Perceive all the blessings that have come your way that have caused you to grow in grace as a Christian.

Bless you, as you step out in obedience to the Lord!

Amen

HAVE A WONDERFUL MOTHER’S DAY.

No 4 THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. The Generous King.

THE VISIT OF THE QUEEN OF SHEBA.

Traditionally her name was Makeda.

The queen of Sheba brought a caravan of gifts for King Solomon. She heard of his fame, wisdom, and the great riches of his Kingdom.      She also came to test his knowledge and God-given Wisdom. She had heard stories of his magnificence and wanted to see it with her own eyes.

For the Queen, herself said on completion of her visit.

“I have seen, and now I believe.”1Kings 10:13.

  • “And King Solomon gave the Queen of Sheba all she  desired. Whatever she asked. Besides that, Solomon gave to her from His Royal Bounty.”

King Solomon ruled over a united Israel. It was a time of PEACE and PROSPERITY. His WISDOM had surpassed the wisdom of all the wise men in every nation.

With his God given WISDOM, he was abundantly GENEROUS.

He gave the Queen of Sheba.

1. Whatever she asked!

2. All that she desired!

He gave to her from his Riches! He invited her to ask, so she commenced to ask again! As for her desire, she did not need to ask. Solomon already knew her HEART 💓!

  • He gave more than enough from his rich bounty.
Spectacular treasures,

He was a type (a picture ) of the Lord Jesus Christ. See Ephes 3:20. Jesus gives to you,

  • “ALL YOU ASK! ALL YOU THINK!  EXCEEDINGLY AND ABUNDANTLY!
  • ABOVE ALL, YOU COULD ASK OR THINK ACCORDING TO HIS MIGHTY POWER AT WORK IN YOU.”

You can ask for your curiosity and His glory. Some of those desires of your heart are there because he put them there! Everything you need, you will find in Him. He even answers your ‘think’ Prayers!

Well, He does know what is on your mind! He is delighted to shower you with beautiful gifts.  Some of us have missed many blessings because we thought it selfish TO ASK!

God’s Royal Bounty is:                                         “The MAGNIFICENT EXTRAS He lavishes upon you.”                    Remember,                       He gave His ONLY SON to an undeserved human race,” and with Him, He freely provides us all things to enjoy. (your needs, wants, and desires.)  So don’t be afraid to ask exceedingly and abundantly above all you dare to ask, think or desire!  See psalm 23:1 psalm 37:5 and Phil 4:19.

He wants to bless you with every Spiritual and Natural blessing in Jesus.

ASK BIG!                              IT IS NEVER TOO BIG FOR GOD!

The difference between the Queen of Sheba and you as a Christian is that she needed to see before she would dare to believe.

But you ask in faith before you see.”Faith is our title deed of things we hope for and the evidence of things we do not see.”                         Heb 11:1.

Jesus said, “before you call, l will answer.” Look at this beautiful promise He gave,”

IF YOU ASK THE FATHER ANYTHING IN MY NAME., THE FATHER WILL GIVE IT TO YOU.”

           ANYTHING!!

We ask in faith, with an unselfish motive, and believe his promises.

The Queen was astounded at the glory of Solomon’s Kingdom and was so overwhelmed she could hardly breathe…                  I imagine her knees were giving away!

Being a generous woman, she lavished upon him 7.920 pounds of gold. Frankincense, myrrh, precious jewels, and various spices so massive that he never would be given them again.

So it should be with us. We show our love and devotion toward our generous God by providing for the sick, the poor, the aged, the orphan, and the widow.

  • TRUE GODLY GIVING TAKES SACRIFICE!
  • GOD NEVER CEASES TO GIVE TO YOU.

Remember that, “GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE ‘GAVE’ HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE LIFE ETERNAL.” John 3:16.

There is no more excellent gift than that! All you need to do is ask!                        .      Ask Jesus to come into your life and save you.

He will forgive your sin and take you to Heaven when you die.                          . Now ask, and receive the most incredible gift of all.

          JESUS CHRIST!!

Amen.

  • Pray: “Thankyou Lord Jesus for the gift of your dear Son. I admit I am sinner and I need Salvation: deliverance and  Healing. Please forgive my sin. I choose to follow you all the days of my life.”Amen
  • I would ask you to sincerely pray about supporting this World wide ministry. There are other expenditures that I need to cover other than blogging.
  • The pension only covers my medical and living expenses.
  • You can give through my email address. This is private and protected by Trend.

No 3. THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. Solomon Acquires Wisdom.

HIS PRAYER FOR WISDOM.

Solomon’s prayer for wisdom concerned his judgment of the people who were so great that they as the multitude,  were innumerable.                  God was pleased with his request and gave him an understanding heart plus length of life, riches, and honour.                           This is a beautiful passage to read.            1 Kings 3:5-13.

Solomon prays for wisdom.

God gave Solomon exceeding wisdom and understanding and largeness of ❤️  heart even as the sand on the seashore.  Imagine that!! Chapter4:29.

It is a wise thing to first ask for wisdom. Solomon must have already possessed some knowledge to ask in this manner.

What kind of wisdom did he want? What kind of wisdom was he supernaturally given?                                    Or, we will be puzzled to reconcile some of his foolishness that appeared alongside it.

Solomon’s own words indicate that in asking for wisdom. He did not mean Spiritual Wisdom (i.e., Insight into DIVINE WISDOM.)

God’s Wisdom comes from regeneration and sanctification and close fellowship with the Lord.

That kind of wisdom is what Paul speaks about in the New Testament.                    God endowed Solomon with the Wisdom that he sought was:

1. Administrative Discernment.

2. Practical Judgement.

3. An Intellectual Grasp.

4. An Aptitude for acquiring knowledge.

5. Practical wisdom in the directing of affairs. In this kind of wisdom, he excelled even above the renowned Philosophers of his day, as we read in Chapter 4:34.

Solomon called it, “Wisdom under the sun,” sadly, not under, ‘THE SON.’ He should have desired the wisdom of God, spiritual wisdom, or insight.

As born-again believers, we already have the mind of Christ. We can think the way God thinks and feels with insight and discernment.

With this wisdom, God gave Soloman an extraordinary memory! Wouldn’t that be great?

Would you read James 3:13-18? You will learn the difference between wisdom from Above and wisdom of the Earth.

We, as born-again believers, can seek and receive the Wisdom from Above.

ALL WE NEED TO DO IS ASK!

JESUS IS WISDOM PERSONIFIED.

HE IS WISDOM EMBODIED.

The author of Proverbs is Solomon himself. He teaches us to seek wisdom in every area of our lives.

In Marriage.

In Finances.

In Relationships.

In Pleasure.

Through this book, he reminds us, “THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM.”

True wisdom is when you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour. You will be delighted to experience how much your life will change and that His knowledge will bring success to your everyday decisions.

This wisdom increases as you live according to the Word of God. Of course, you will face difficulties, yet you have the knowledge to handle them.

Please pray. “Lord Jesus, I cannot live my life anymore without you. I am a sinner and know that you died on the cross and rose again to forgive my sin and save my soul.  Please Save me and give me the necessary wisdom to live a life pleasing to you.”

Amen.

LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS.

“RAISED WITH CHRIST”

“BEING RAISED WITH CHRIST”

“IF YOU WERE RAISED WITH CHRIST, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, WHERE CHRIST IS SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.”

“SET YOUR AFFECTIONS ON THINGS ABOVE, NOT ON THINGS OF EARTH. FOR YOU ARE DEAD AND YOUR LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD.”

“WHEN CHRIST WHO IS OUR LIFE SHALL APPEAR, THEN YOU SHALL ALSO APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY!”

Colossians chapter 3 :1 – 4.

There are three tenses mentioned in these verses that speak of our union with Jesus Christ.

Past..”YOU WERE RAISED WITH CHRIST” Raised from Spiritual Death.

You are now dead to sin and selfish desires (flesh), and all sickness.

Present..”YOU ARE NOW HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD.”He now lives in and through you.

Future..”YOU SHALL NOW APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY, IN YOUR NEW BEAUTIFUL INCORRUPTIBLE BODY!!

Raised together. Sit together. Forever and ever. Glory!
His Magnificent appearance.

Can you imagine the glory-lit sky opening and our beautiful Lord and Saviour appearing with His Shining Angels descending to take His Own out of sight.

Oh, the Joy of His appearing when we are changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, transfigured into His likeness.   Thank you, Jesus!

To be there with Him forever!!

Jesus we love you! You may be thinking will this happen? Will Jesus come again?

Every prophesy concerning His first coming has been fulfilled. His birth, His death, and His Resurrection. His coming again shortly, yes very soon!

Many prophesies concerning His second coming also have come to pass, and though we do not know the day, nor the hour, the time is at hand.

Keep an eye on Israel! God is fulfilling all prophesy concerning them.

The disciples asked Jesus, “What shall be the sign of your coming and the end of the world?”

So Jesus predicted in Matthew chapter 24 the state of this world at the time of His coming. There shall be wars and rumors of wars that are to come.

This is happening in Ukraine, the Middle East, and other parts of the World.

Many Christians have been persecuted for Christ.  Thousands have given their lives in martyrdom because they have a better resurrection.

There will be terrible earthquakes (seismic events of grand proportions)

Also, horrible epidemics. Floods and Famines in place after place.

There’s more!  This is happening today all over the World. Take a look at the devastation that Covid has caused.

People are full of unrest, wondering if they will be able to feed their children and will be able to keep their homes.

Do your study on this passage, and you will undoubtedly understand   that,                                    JESUS IS COMING SOON!

He said to John the Apostle. “SURELY I AM COMING ‘QUICKLY’,                                          COME SOON, LORD JESUS.

When God raised Jesus from the dead, it proved that Jesus had power over Sin, Death, Hell and he took total authority over all power of the evil one, over sickness, sorrow, grief, and pain.

HE WON THE VICTORY.

A song I used to sing.

WE ARE MORE THAN A CONQUERORS THROUGH CHRIST WHO LOVED US SO.

THE CHRIST WHO DWELLS WITHIN US, IS THE GREATEST POWER WE KNOW.

HE WILL FIGHT BESIDE US THOUGH THE ENEMY BE GREAT.

WHO CAN STAND AGAINST US?

HE’S THE CAPTAIN OF OUR FAITH.

THEN WE WILL CONQUER NEVER FEAR, SO LET THE BATTLE RAGE.

HE HAS PROMISED TO BE NEAR UNTIL THE END OF HIS AGE.

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS, THE CHRIST WHO DWELLS IN US…

IS THE ‘G R E A T E S T’ POWER…WE KNOW!

Dear reader, Is He your Saviour and Lord? Why not put your trust in Him today?

He loves you so much and wants to forgive your sin and take you to Heaven when you die.

Pray: “Lord Jesus, l am a sinner. I believe you died for my sin and rose to new life by the power of the Holy Spirit. I now invite you to come into my life, save me and empower me to live for you in this troubled World. Amen.”

Is He coming again? Oh yes!

WHO THEN SHALL CONDEMN US,

WILL CHRIST, WHO DIED FOR US,

NO!!

AND HE IS THE ONE SITTING IN THE PLACE OF HIGHEST HONOUR

NEXT TO GOD,

PLEADING FOR US

THERE IN HEAVEN.

Romans 8:24 (LB)

Doesn’t that make you want to sing and dance and raise your hands in praise and honour to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords?

Amen. Glory to God!

No 1.THE SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. God Chooses Solomon as the next King of Israel.

HIS RISE, WISDOM, GLORY, AND FAILURE!

Solomon was very young when he came to the Throne. “He was but a little child.” 1 Kings 3:7. We think he was twelve, but some believe he was fifteen.

Solomon anointed King of Israel.

Adonijah, David’s eldest surviving son, aspired to take the throne for these reasons. David is old and feeble. Solomon is too young and inexperienced.

Adonijah was a lovely person (goodly, handsome.) In chapter 1:6. Joab, the head of the army, and Abiathar, the authority of the priesthood, favored him. Adonijah aborted his plan as Nathan, the prophet, proclaimed that David intended to have Solomon rule in place of himself.

When David proclaimed Solomon as King, Adonijah, still desiring the Throne, asked permission from Soloman through Bathsheba to have Abishag as his wife! David had died.

Solomon felt anger rise within himself. He shouted, “Ask for the Kingdom also.” Adonijah later confesses that the Kingdom belonged to Solomon and was of the Lord. Solomon ordered his death by the hand of Benaiah. So he died!

What can we learn from this?

1. Accept what God has ordained in the choice of a leader. Do not murmer against him.

2. Don’t promote yourself into the position of leadership for the sake of appearance or recognition.

3. Have a servant’s heart, then God will exalt you in His time.

4. Do not use people to promote yourself. God, the Supreme King, sets up Kings and Kingdoms, leaders and followers. It’s not the ‘position’ that one may acquire.

God is looking at your ‘heart motivation’ for wanting that position. If God is in your decision, it will be very successful.

God is pleased for you to be a housewife, a cleaner, a follower, or a great leader if you do everything in that position to bring honour and glory to his Name.

Eccles 9:10 “WHATEVER YOUR HAND CHOOSES TO DO, DO IT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT AS UNTO THE LORD).”

MAY HE BLESS YOU?

Remember that there is a great responsibility in becoming a leader, people’s lives are in your hands.

God will judge you more severely. Don’t become a leader under the guise of a need for acceptance or popularity. You are accountable to God, and You will fail.

When your employment is from the Lord, you will LOVE your job.

Amen.

No 11.The SECOND BOOK OF KINGS. The Book Of The Dispersion.

The great empires of East Assyria, Babylon, and Persia will almost exclusively occupy our attention. They all alike exercised the most significant influence upon the destiny of ancient Israel.

In the records of those great World Kingdoms, the confirmations are so numerous and so convincing that the critics have to confess that here at least,

THE BIBLE IS RECOGNISED AS HISTORY!

The critic must retire confounded and ashamed.

Israel, at this point, has become steeped in infidelity and moral degradation until, finally, the measure of their wickedness becomes full, and judgment falls upon them.

Pitiless foes wreak havoc and vengeance upon them and drag them from their land into the land of captivity. In chapter 25, we see Jerusalem sacked, the Temple burnt, and the Southern Kingdom (Judah) entering detention, from which only a remnant returned.

Though the captivities were a hundred years apart, they are associated together as one captivity called,

THE DISPERSION.

We cannot read the second book of Kings without remembering the words of Solomon’s proverb.

“THE WAY OF THE TRANSGRESSOR IS HARD”

Then Paul’s words, “THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH.”

It is demonstrated nationally and declared justice for all to see and notice. SINNING despite warning brings RUIN without REMEDY.

Abused privileges bring increased PENALTIES.

The deeper the GUILT, the heavier the STROKE.

PEOPLE MAY RESIST CORRECTION, BUT THEY CAN NOT AVOID RETRIBUTION.

Keep this verse ever before your eyes,

“WHATSOEVER A MAN SHALL SOW, (or a nation) THAT WHICH HE SHALL ALSO REAP.”

In 2nd Kings, we see Israel hauled through the streets behind the chariot wheels of their heathen conquerors; we cannot indeed fail to see that the central message of this book is that:

WILLFUL SIN BRINGS A WOEFUL END!

We note that in the second book of Kings, 17 Kings rule for 250 years (over the ten tribes of Israel). Judah, who had only 10 Kings, continued for 390 years from when they split from Israel.

EACH KING, CHARACTERIZED BY THE STANDARD SET BY KING DAVID, FELL SHORT.

Speaking of Solomon: “His heart was not perfect before the Lord, as David, his father. 1 Kings. 11:4.

Read about King Asa. 1 King 25:11. “Asa did not do that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father.”

Despite his sins, which marred his life, David’s trust in God, his general Integrity and his zeal for Divine honor, and his responsibility as a king under God made him be called,

“A MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART”

And as the pattern for those who would succeed him. Through many troubled times, God preserved David’s line of Kings. Come with me into the lives of those whom God protected to carry out His Will for Israel and, finally, down to us.

1. Jehosheba, the daughter of Jehoram, saved JOASH. 2 Kings 11: 1-3.

God intervened and healed Hezekiah when he was sick unto death. 2 Kings 20: 1-10.

3. God continued to preserve the line through Nathan the Prophet.

4. After the Captivity, the line continues with Zerubbabel, under whose leadership they rebuilt the temple. Zerubbabel preserved the genealogical line of David down to the birth of JESUS CHRIST THE LORD.

Who is David’s Son in whom the Davidic line is NEVER ENDING, EVERLASTING, CONSTANTLY, NEVER TO BE INTERRUPTED!

Jesus, by His second coming, will set up David’s throne on this earth in the city of Jerusalem in fulfillment of the Covenant promise made with David by God long ago.

He is the true HEIR according to the Scriptures in both the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS!

JESUS IS KING! JESUS IS KING! TRUE KING OF ISRAEL;

DAVID’S GREAT-SON; HOPE OF THE FATHERS;

HEIR TO THE THRONE;

LION OF JUDAH;

LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN;

TRUE KING OF ISRAEL;

YET HE SHALL REIGN.

JESUS IS KING! JESUS IS KING!

….. J S Baxter.

IS JESUS THE KING OF YOUR LIFE?

You must confess Him as Lord of your spirit, soul, and body. Allow him to rule in every area of your life. It will help if you put aside your selfish ways. Paul preached in the book of Galatians.

“MY OLD SELF IS CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST.”

Choose Right!

IT IS NO LONGER THAT I LIVE, BUT CHRIST THAT LIVES IN ME.” Gal 2:20.

Yes, we must reckon(count) ourselves dead indeed unto sin and alive unto Christ.

With Paul, we declare: “I DIE DAILY TO MY SELFISH WAYS.”

The promise of a victorious life will follow when you submit to Christ’s Lordship.

“KING OF MY LIFE, I CROWN HIM NOW, THINE THE GLORY BE. MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING SACRIFICE, CRUCIFIED FOR THEE.”

Amen.
